ScholarBlink is an independent, text-first tool for sharing a temporary private research message. It was created for situations in which a student or researcher needs to introduce an idea, ask for supervision, propose a collaboration, or send a focused academic note without creating an account or uploading a document.
One narrow job
The product intentionally does not try to become a social network, cloud drive, messaging inbox, or artificial-intelligence writing assistant. A sender writes a note, optionally adds a public profile link, creates an encrypted URL, and shares that URL with one or more intended recipients. A deliberate reveal starts a fixed reading window, after which the encrypted server record becomes unavailable and is removed.
Designed around honest privacy
The browser creates the encryption key and encrypts the note before upload. The key stays in the URL fragment after the hash sign and is not intentionally sent to the ScholarBlink Worker. This design reduces what the service can read, but it does not control the recipient's device. A recipient may copy, screenshot, photograph, or otherwise preserve visible text. ScholarBlink therefore avoids claims that a web application cannot honestly guarantee.
Built for the research community
The optional public profile field is useful when the recipient needs context about the sender. A researcher can link to Google Scholar, ORCID, a university profile, LinkedIn, or a personal academic page. The profile remains public and is not scraped, verified, or enriched by ScholarBlink. Users of Impact Factor Finder may also import a compact public profile summary before encrypting their final note.
Independent and lightweight
ScholarBlink uses a static web interface, browser cryptography, a Cloudflare Worker, and a small D1 database for encrypted records and lifecycle timestamps. It does not require paid AI APIs, file storage, or a user-account database. Keeping the system small helps preserve the simple experience and reduces the amount of information collected.
Advertising boundaries
Advertising may support the public educational and explanatory parts of the website. It is deliberately excluded from recipient pages, revealed notes, note-created pages, expired-note pages, privacy pages, and terms pages. This separation protects the private-note experience and avoids placing advertising beside content that ScholarBlink cannot inspect.
